2014 Carlisle Import/Kit Nationals

The automotive world converged on Carlisle via the Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals. At least eight different countries were showcased and this year, British cars were featured. There were over 1,200 cars registered for the showfield, vendors with cars and parts for sale, and great live music. Activities at the event included Standard Of Excellence Judging, Carlisle Elite, Winner's Circle, Passport Program, Seminars, Scenic Cruise, and Autocross.

Special guests including John Twist and Carl Heidlman gave free seminars as Lucas Electrics, How to Restore a British Car, Rolling Tech Sessions, Welding Basics and Beyond, and the education is priceless.

Clubs were encouraged to participate with some using the event as the host to their regional or national meets. Carlisle staff selected the Coolest Club Hangout looking for things like flags from the various countries and vehicle manufacturers as well as automobilia, music, and people having lots of fun. The North American MGB Register NAMGBR, Keystone MG Club, and LancoMG Club joined to represent the MG marque. 2014 Coolest Club Hangout Winner was Saabs at Carlisle.

At Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals people ar encouraged to walk the Showfield. PASSPORT checkpoints are found in the American, Asian, British, French, German, Italian, and Swedish sections of the Showfield. You can have your event directory stamped by the ambassadors for each country. Once you have all of the stamps, proceed to Guest Services to receive your 2015 commemorative pin and spin the wheel for a chance to win a prize.

Professional Judges Help You Perfect Your Gem. Although the Import & Kit Nationals is more widely known for its relaxed atmosphere and cars on display in the field without the pressures of being judged, there are some cars that stand out above the crowd. Owners of select cars can have their prized ride evaluated by a team of automotive experts as part of the Standard of Excellence judging.
